vintage leopard coat_4
I am a little behind on sharing all my New York looks! I layered up in my grandmother’s vintage fur coat one morning for meetings and running around town. I wanted the outfit to be a fun mix of casual and comfortable, but professional when I took off my coat in doors. I’ve got a lot of wear out of this bright pink blazer – I guess the Texas girl is coming back out in me. ;)

farrow and ball #stylemywardrobe

I purchased this armoire when I was just out of college and living in Dallas. Honestly, I purchased it more because it was in my budget than because I truly loved it.  But somehow, seven years later, it is still with me.  I recently thought about selling it, but the truth is, it is really great storage.  It helped our marriage survive NYC apartments when the closet space was more than lacking.  Now that we are back in Texas, I am using it to house all my handbags and accessories.

When Farrow and Ball approached me about the #stylemywardrobe challenge, I knew my wardrobe could become what I wanted – it just needed a facelift!  Farrow & Ball’s new line of papers just launched this February and they are all inspired by nineteenth and twentieth century French fashion so what better backdrop for my accessories?! Their wallpapers are hands down, the best! Each paper is unique, created using their own paints traditionally trough or block printed onto ground papers to give them an extraordinary texture and appearance. I chose this beautiful paisley grey print to keep it neutral enough to go in a nursery or guest bedroom one day if we ever decide to rearrange, but special enough to really make a statement. I couldn’t be happier with the beautiful outcome!

I also painted the natural wood a French grey to compliment the paper, but I think we can all agree the real statement maker is the wallpaper!  Just like an outfit, the accessories complete the look and in this case, the wallpaper is the it handbag!

This project isn’t limited to a bedroom armoire.  It looks great in your closet or even inside your china cabinet in your dining room.

Does this project get you as excited as I was?  Well then, today is your lucky day!  Farrow and Ball is offering one lucky reader the wallpaper of your choice to customize your space! All you have to do is post a picture (via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook) of your current wardrobe using the hashtag #stylemywardrobe.  To be eligible, be sure to tag both myself (@houseofharper) and @farrowandball. The winner will be chosen Monday, March 9th at 11:59 pm CST.

February 26th, 2015

From the moment we found out I was pregnant, I felt such love for the baby growing inside me. We went into the first doctor’s appointment with such mixed emotions. We were so nervous, but mostly just overwhelmingly excited. I have never felt such pure joy and love as I did when I saw that teeny gummy bear on the monitor and heard his heart beat for the first time at just 9 weeks old.

The next 8 months were a mix of anxiously awaiting his arrival, frantically preparing every little detail (down to the last washed onesie), and day dreaming of what he would be like – from the day we meet him until he becomes an adult.

I spent the months before his arrival agonizing over every detail for his nursery to create the perfect environment for him to feel our love. Since he was born, I have showered him with kisses and told him how much I love him every day. And every day on out, I will continue to show him my love by guiding him and preparing him (in the best way I can), for the day his is old enough to go out on his own.

Of all the wishes we have dreamed for our son, the most emotionally overwhelming is that he knows how much he is loved. By truly knowing our love for him, we hope this brings him the confidence and self-worth that will make all our other wishes for him come true, as well.  He is worthy of God’s love, he deserves of a loving companion, he is confident enough to stand up for his beliefs, and he is courageous enough to be himself. Join me and @FisherPrice in sharing #WishesforBaby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram!  I can’t wait to read all your wishes! xo
