Before: Front Exterior

I can’t believe it has been a year since we purchased this home! We closed right before the holidays in 2019 and began construction in January of 2020. Of course, we had no idea what would happen in February – March of 2020 when we made this decision. We only knew we were preparing to welcome our third baby, Millie, in March and that we were quickly outgrowing our three bedroom home in our beloved neighborhood.

Our first plan was to add on to our (then) existing home. We literally had the plans drawn by an architect and approved by our HOA. We were ready to get started on construction when I was browsing HAR one night in bed and came across this (almost) untouched, original home in our neighborhood just waiting for someone to bring it back to life!

I’ve received many questions about the blinds in our home that I thought it would be helpful to save all the details in a blog post for your reference. Window treatments can get expensive really fast, but I love the layered look of woven shades paired with fabric curtains.

We used Blinds.com in our first home and were so impressed with the price and quality that I used them again in our current home. (I am not kidding when I say they were about $4k less than every other quote I got!) I am listing all the details of ours for your reference below.

**They run a sale on most holiday weekends so I recommend waiting for a sale to purchase. 😉

House of Harper Q&A January 2020

I’ve had so many requests over the years to share our baby must-haves, and seven years and three kids later – IT IS FINALLY HERE! I tried to keep this as easy and comprehensive as possible so I broke it up into seven categories for you. But at the end of the day, all a baby really needs is a breast / bottle, a carseat and a bassinet to sleep in (and lots of LOVE). Knox surprised us six weeks before his due date so there were a lot of things we didn’t have and I promise it all worked out. (Thank God for Amazon! ha!)

We have a lot to cover so let’s get started…

I am so excited to continue our home tours this week with Millie’s bathroom as a follow-up from last week’s nursery reveal. Millie’s bedroom and bathroom were actually part of one massive master wing when we purchased the house. We bought the house knowing we would need to completely rework this area and add a bedroom and bathroom for her.

I had so much fun picking out the finishes for each of their bathrooms and decided to really design each space with them in mind instead of sticking to safer, gender neutral selections like I did in our old house. I love this girly, floral space and hope she does too!
