Happy weekend before the Fourth of July! It’s always strange when a holiday falls on a Wednesday. We took the boys to the lake house this weekend for some early July 4th celebrating — Knox and Andrew enjoyed lots of sparklers and quality time with the cousins! This week we’ll be in Houston, hopefully near a pool and out of the heat. 🙂

There has been a lot going on in the world, and the holiday week ahead means there will finally be time to catch up on the news and interesting stories. And maybe to sneak in a couple of summer sales too! Read on below for my top 5 Weekend Reading articles from around the web.

Family Separation: How to Help Now – The devastating news of children being separated from their parents at the border has been on the mind of every American for the past week. As a mother of two young boys, it is especially heart-wrenching to hear about these atrocities, and I want to spread as much awareness as possible about how we can help. Joanna Goddard from A Cup of Jo has compiled a list of realistic ways for people to get involved and fight for these children and their families.
