I can’t believe it is already August!  We had our last weekend out east this weekend and FMK starts his new job today so our summer is coming to a close.  Although I am already eager to start dressing for fall, August is the hottest month of the year so I decided to share my poolside style today.  I am a firm believer in less is more when it comes to the beach or the pool.  (You certainly don’t want to be that girl in high heels and melting make-up!)

I have been wearing this white linen, ruffled cover-up for a few summers now.  I love how easy it is to throw on over a swimsuit and still feel feminine and cute.  These gold sandals were a steal from Old Navy which is ideal because if I get them wet, it won’t be the end of the world.  Plus, the gold faux leather is a better alternative to a pair of rubber flip-flops (but they are just as comfortable).  I keep my make-up and jewelry simple by only wearing my simple earrings I never take off and my favorite mini initial necklace. And last, but certainly not least – always protect your skin with a hat.  I found this one last summer at Urban Outfitters and fell in love with the metallic threading and floppy brim.

What is your poolside style?
