“Floral may be tried and true, but House of Harper’s Caroline Knapp says gingham is the true hallmark spring plaid. Knapp, who recently relocated from New York City to Houston, still finds herself incorporating New York corporate style into her wardrobe. With gingham, she suggests pairing darker gingham patterns with either more gingham or a neutral colored top. Avoid red gingham to avoid resembling a picnic table.”
