I am honored to be featured on refinery29 today as part of the GUESS Generation. The campaign celebrates Guess’s 30th anniversary by featuring 30 fashionistas wearing pieces from the brand’s vintage-inspired anniversary collection and sharing their favorite memories of Guess in the 80’s. I shared mine below, but click here to see the full campaign that includes some of my favorite bloggers (think Song of Style, Grease & Glamour & Flashes of Style to name a few!)

Favorite ‘80s memory: “My older sister and I are less than two years apart, so growing up I would always sneak into her closet and steal whatever I could get my hands on — jelly shoes, stirrup pants, hair bows (the bigger the better), and colorful socks (to layer, of course) — and hope she didn’t notice until we got to school, and it was too late to do anything about it.”

Favorite returning ’80s fashion trend: “I’m a huge fan of the denim jacket — it’s such a versatile and timeless piece. My favorite way to style it is by throwing it over a floral summer dress during the cooler spring months. It’s the best way to play down a dressier piece.”

Favorite GUESS memory: “Very few brands are as iconic and representative of a decade as GUESS is to the ‘80s. My favorite denim was a pair of tapered-ankle, acid-washed GUESS jeans. Back then, you didn’t have a different wash, cut, and style for every day of the week, so those jeans made plenty of appearances in the family photo album. I also can’t forget the triangle GUESS logo T-shirt. I bet there was is at least one kid in every class picture sporting the GUESS logo tee!”
