Happy Monday, friends! While everyone else was shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale early, we spent the weekend in South Padre Island with family and had the best time!

My sister and her family moved to The Valley (for those of you not in Texas, it is basically almost as far south as the Texas / Mexico border) last year for my brother-in-law’s job. So the boys and I took a trip south on Wednesday while Fred was working to go for a visit! My mom, their Sugar, met us there too and we had a fun weekend at the beach with all the kids. I have to admit, the Texas coast doesn’t get much credit, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the water and how clean the beaches are! The boys were in HEAVEN jumping the waves, searching for sea shells, and building sand castles. I can’t wait to go back again soon. (I think we may do it again next month and bring Fred next time!)
Well now that we are back, I obviously have some shopping to do. Unless you have lived under a rock, you probably heard the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is open to card holders. I am admiringly not a card holder, shocking I know. So I am just sharing my shopping list with you until I can actually check out on Thursday. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, either. I honestly think it is just a ploy to get more card holders. I know it is hard to believe with all the blogger buzz, but they reserve stock for the public access so keep checking back if something is sold out. (Shhh, I didn’t just say that.)
Speaking of shopping. Can we talk about how adorable my little shopping buddy is?! I mean, that first picture where he spotted something in the Harry Winston window! Fred, Andrew picked out my Christmas present, it’s the big diamond in the window. What can I say? Our kids have good taste. 😉
And speaking of kids, obviously I am a fan of the mom jean trend. Even in the Texas summer, I still wear denim on a weekly basis I just prefer a lighter wash and more loose fit. I own way too many white t-shirts, but they are just so easy to wear everyday. I love this one with the knot front! It is long enough to wear with my work out pants, too! Win, win!
