One thing I love about Houston is our incredible Museum District. It’s a beautiful, tree-lined neighborhood home to the best of the best arts and science museums in the country.  Usually when I’m in the Museum District I’m with the boys at the Children’s Museum of Houston, so I decided to take a solo visit to see Anish Kapoor’s “Cloud Column” – AKA “Houston’s Bean” – located right outside of the Museum of Fine Arts. The sculpture caused quite an uproar in Chicago, home to Kapoor’s “Cloud Gate” sculpture, which you probably know as “The Bean”.

Read on below for more details about my visit to the sculpture and my favorite new Zara find!

I loved taking in the 32 foot, 21,000 pound sculpture located right outside of the amazing new Glassell School of Art building. As I mentioned, Chicago has been pretty feisty about our new sculpture, but I think it’s a super fun addition to the area and will definitely encourage lots of selfie-taking!

For this day of museum hopping, I wore my favorite new Zara find, a plaid shift dress that has a collared shirt built in underneath. Such an easy way to accomplish an early fall layered look! I paired it with these statement booties that are comfortable enough for strolling through multiple art exhibits!
