If you love following the latest in beauty trends and trying new products, chances are you’ve come across facial rolling. These pretty crystal rollers – commonly made of jade and rose quartz – are all over social media, and we were excited to try one out to see if they really work (we admit that we were a tad skeptical). Plus, they also look so pretty sitting on a bathroom counter, so we had to have one. 😉  Read on below for details on why people are raving about facial rolling, how to use a roller, and where to buy one!

Facial rollers have taken the beauty scene by storm because of their ability to decrease puffiness, prevent acne, and relieve your face of tension (which causes wrinkles). The basic science behind rolling is that rollers massage the lymphatic system, which increases circulation and helps get rid of toxins and excess water in your face, neck, and collar bone area. Rollers also help your skin better absorb the products you apply on your face, like moisturizers, serums, and oils. Also, the feel of the crystal, whether jade or rose quartz, is really soothing and cool to the touch — it definitely has a therapeutic appeal!

Facial rollers usually come with a roller at each end, a small one and a larger one. We love this jade roller from Switch2Pure. To use it, you simply apply your favorite moisturizer and/or serum (some of our favorites are linked below), and then roll the facial roller in an upward motion starting with your collar bone and neck area and working your way up to your forehead. Use the larger roller for your collar bone, neck, and cheeks, and switch over to the smaller one for around your eyes and forehead. We’re still pretty new to the rolling routine, but we already love how it brightens our complexion in the morning and makes us feel more awake. It’s also a nice, soothing routine for applying our morning and evening products, and we can tell our skin absorbs oils and moisturizers better. And again, we think they’re really pretty. 😉
