It has finally gotten cold here in New York – just in time for the holidays.  Maybe I was subconsciously waiting on the weather to cool down to finish my annual to-dos, because as the temperatures dropped to the 30’s last weekend, I finally finished my shopping, ordered our Christmas cards and put the finishing touches on our apartment decorations.

This is just our second holiday season living in New York, but I already find myself taking the city for granted.  Last weekend, I realized that it was our last chance to check out the holiday hot spots before heading home to Texas.  So, we quickly planned an afternoon of being tourist in our own city.  Joining the crowds, we ventured to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree, admired the elaborate store windows on 5th Avenue, and even went to Brooklyn Bridge Park to take our Christmas card picture and grab a slice of Grimaldi’s pizza.

My Christmas spirit must have slipped into my wardrobe selection, as well.  I paired a red cashmere crewneck with a classic black pencil skirt and a leopard clutch here, but I can’t wait to style the sweater with bold colored pants for a more playful outfit in the new year.
