Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a pop up event at Sephora.  It was a fun evening to sip champagne and challenge myself to step outside of my ‘make-up comfort zone’.  I normally opt for a very natural look with pale pink gloss on my lips and neutral shades of brown on my eyes (My own mother almost didn’t recognize me in this post.).  But, I decided to trust the experts at Sephora and just sit back and learn.  As always, I was extremely pleased with the results.  I especially loved the bold lip.

After the event, I had dinner with FMK at our go-to neighborhood spot, but I have to admit, I felt a little silly at dinner wearing (what felt to me like) so much make-up.  This got me thinking. I enjoy taking particular risk with fashion, but I realized I am not as adventurous when it comes to beauty.  Maybe I should start stepping up my beauty game.  Perhaps a bright pink lipstick is just what I need for spring instead of the handbag I’ve been eying.  After all, I did get a “turquoise and caicos” mani this week.  That’s already one step in the right direction, right?

Tell me, do you feel your prettiest all dolled up or do you feel less is more?
