I live in a version of this look come spring every year.  (It may not officially be spring, but the weather in Houston has been beautiful!)  A classic trench is a quintessential spring staple and I love the way this silky fabric drapes and moves (plus it comes in 4 colors and is 25% off)!

The older I get, the more simple my wardrobe is becoming.  The ease of getting dressed every morning is less about what is trending and more about what makes me feel comfortable – which is typically my go-to denim (whether it is skinny jeans or wide leg crops), a flattering blouse and either my slides for days I need a pair of flats or a classic pump on the days I need to step it up a bit.

Another thing that has changed in the last few years is that I prefer to invest in quality pieces that will last through the years instead of fast fashion.  I bought these Prada pumps two years ago for NYFW and they are probably the most worn item in my closet (other than jeans).  I bought myself the Gucci loafers for Christmas and between these two pairs of shoes, I am pretty much covered for any occasion outside of working out.  (I have my Nike’s for that!)

What is your style?  Are you more of a fashion risk taker or, like me, is the white and black blouse section of your closet ever growing?
