Unpredictable springtime weather makes selecting outfits a bit tricky. I find myself debating sandals versus boots, jeans versus shorts, and sleeves versus sleeveless. The key to styling outfits that don’t feel too wintry or too summery is practical layering. Once I find the perfect layering pieces for spring, I wear versions of the same outfit on repeat all season.

One of my springtime layering essentials is a light colored leather jacket to wear with everything from denim to a flouncy floral dress. This one provides the perfect amount of warmth on unexpectedly windy spring days, and also gives my basic pieces a chic update for when I have afternoon meetings.

I had been debating splurging on a real leather jacket for a while, and this one was too affordable to not take the plunge! I also love that the light neutral color makes it versatile for both daytime and evening looks. Plus it’s one of those staples that I know I will have in my closet forever.

What are your go-to spring looks? Any tips on dressing for unpredictable weather?
