I arrived back home yesterday after a whirlwind long weekend in my favorite city for New York Fashion Week!  It was a fun weekend filled with fashion and friends in the city we used to call home.  I got to NYC late Thursday night and basically just had time to check into the hotel and order soup dumplings for a midnight snack (oh, how I miss all the seamless web offerings!)  On Friday morning, I kicked off the week at the newest DryBar location in Boerum Hill where I took over their Instagram Stories for the day to share a glimpse into NYFW.

Once I had my blowout, I was ready to go!  I headed to Bryant Park for a quick showroom visit and to meet Staci of the famous Hampden Clothing (named a Top 10 boutique by Vogue, located in Charleston, SC) and then we shared a cab over to the Zimmerman show.  If this dress is any indication, Zimmerman is an incredible line full of beautiful fabrics, intricate details and interesting silhouettes.  (I am a huge fan, but have to wait until it goes on sale!)

After Zimmerman it was a mad race downtown to make it to the Jason Wu show.  Most shows actually start about 30 minutes after the advertised show time, but everyone got an email from the Jason Wu team that the show would be starting no later than 1:15 (rare for a 1 o’clock show).  Since Zimmerman was not on time, we literally got out of the cab and ran into Jason Wu.  We got off the elevator and security cut the line off at me.  Staci and I were the first one NOT to get into the show… so close!  It wasn’t all bad though because the models were actually entering through the hallway so we got a backstage view, if you will.

In typically fashion with the new fashion week calendar (it isn’t centralized at Lincoln Center anymore), my next appointment was back uptown and traffic was basically not moving.  So, I was late again and this time to speak on a round table discussion about blogger + brand partnerships.  None the less, it was a great break to chat with the PR industry and hear both sides of the business, see some friendly faces and even meet some new ones.

After this, I actually had an hour to get to Alison Broad PR where I got to meet the team behind many of the campaigns I have worked on and have in the pipeline for the end of the year.  And their office is right out of a movie.  If you were following my stories, you know what I am talking about!  But let’s just say they let me raid their beauty closet and it wasn’t a disappointment.  (I will be snapping some of my favorites soon!)

When I left ABPR, it was back downtown again to see Morgan at her pop-up at The Laundress in SoHo (are you getting an idea of my Uber bills by this point?!)  Morgan was showing her new BURU White Label collection and it was so fun to actually see it in person… it’s even cuter than the pictures!  (If you live in Houston, hope to see you at the trunk show at my house this Saturday!)

Then, I walked next door to The Dutch for a drink and appetizers with Jackie from Leapfrog PR and ended the day with the Tadashi Shoji show.  After the show, I went home and crashed in my bed (and ordered more seamless web)!  I will be sharing a trend recap of my favorite / most wearable trends soon! xo
