FLORAL LACE TOP

Lace is a favorite spring staple of mine and it is everywhere now!  From a recent baby shower to the rewardStyle Conference, there was definitely a theme.

I love this cute lace top because it is so easy to dress up with a wide leg white trouser or style more casually like I am wearing it here.  I get a lot of questions from moms asking how to dress while hanging with the kiddos and my answer is always to buy things that can be dressed up or styled more casually to be appropriate for days at the park.  Call me crazy, but I would totally wear this outfit (with flats) on an afternoon with my boys.  I wrote a personal post yesterday about being a mom and got so many amazing comments and advice (if you are a mom, definitely read the comment section).  One thing that seemed consistent was that to be the best mom, you need to be the best version of yourself.  If that means actually taking the time for yourself before the kids wake up to take a shower and get dresses so you feel like yourself the rest of the day, then you should do that.  If it means wearing something other than yoga pants, then get dressed.  Sometime it is the little things that can make a big difference.

On another note, we ventured to the Heights for a shoot last week (hadn’t shot there since this favorite post!) and I had so much fun strolling the streets pretending we were in New Orléans or Charleston.  The houses have so much charm and character!  I love this about Houston, there are so many wonderful neighborhoods with such different aesthetics, it makes it so fun to break out of your bubble and be transported to another place!
