It’s funny to me now that when we found out we were having another boy; I couldn’t picture anything, but another little Knox. Fast forward almost two years later and Andrew is his own little person and we can’t imagine life without him. It’s crazy how even their little personalities already shine through at such a young age. I remember trying to get Knox to smile for the monthly pictures and I would do anything, anything to get him to crack and he would just look at me like I was crazy. Andrew on the other hand, I just have to say his name and I get this huge, contagious grin.

There were a lot of things I could take for granted with Knox. And I am grateful that I had this luxury the first time around, but it didn’t take me long to realize Andrew was going to be my sensitive child. I first noticed his sensitivity to foods when his tummy would get upset from nursing and soon after, we started to notice his sensitive skin.

Andrew was officially diagnosed with baby eczema around 4 months old. His poor little cheeks were always chapped and the creases of his knees, ankles and elbows were always irritated and dry. Not knowing what would work, we tried every over-the-counter lotion, cream, and balm. I was rotating them all around trying to see what which worked best when I had to leave for a few days for a work trip. When I came home, Andrew’s skin looked better than ever. I asked Fred what he had done and he simply replied,  “just Aquaphor.”

After that, I have become brand loyal to say the least. We use it for everything from bath time, diaper changes and moisturizer throughout the day. We love the Aquaphor Baby Wash and Shampoo because you can use it all over and it’s gentle, hypoallergenic formula is easy on the eyes and skin. Surprisingly, our doctors say it is best to bathe him everyday (I thought too many baths would make his skin worse) with a gentle cleanser and this has been perfect for us. We also have come to love the Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream. Through the process of trying to discover what triggers Andrew’s breakouts, I came to realize how sensitive he is to dyes, preservatives and really anything that isn’t natural. I love this cream because it is hypoallergenic, plus it is free of fragrances, preservatives, parabens and dyes. It is gentle on his skin, but still protects all night long while treating and preventing future diaper rash. (Added bonus that you can skip the whole zinc-oxide mess! This goes on smoothly and washes off easily).

Last, but certainly not least, we live for the Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment. We literally use this all over his body after a bath and spot treat his mouth and creases almost every diaper change throughout the day. Not only does it help treat his dry, irritated skin but also creates a barrier on the skin to prevent future problems, as well. This has made such a difference for Andrew and taken so much stress from me.

It gives me such peace of mind knowing that I am using products that are hypoallergenic, alcohol, paraben and fragrance free on his sensitive skin. No wonder Aquaphor is the brand trusted for over 90 years and recommended by pediatricians and dermatologists.
