Sorry for the slow (non existent) posting early this week, I had several deadlines due along with a doctor’s appointment, swim lessons and prepping for possibly the most exciting post yet, the kitchen reveal! I am shooting the kitchen tomorrow to share with you next week, and it is so big we are also making it our next youtube video so I can walk you through the process in person. But for now, let’s talk about this cool necklace with a cause.

Houston is the home to Golden Thread Jewelry, a label that has established quiet the celebrity following after first being spotted on Pippa Middleton in 2010. But perhaps the ultimate accolade came when non other than Taylor Swift sported the line in her cover article in Vogue Magazine. Despite the abundance of press and high demand around the collections, local designer Jennifer Welker still has a humble mindset and most of all hopes to spread a little more love with her handmade designs, particularly with this ‘golden’ rule antique heart necklace.

As a mom, sometimes I turn on the news and feel heartbroken for our world and terrified for the two little boys we are raising in it. I worry what direction our country is headed and fear that the acts of hate are growing by the day. I chose to personalize my ‘golden’ rule necklace with the initials of our boys, one on each side, as a reminder to myself to always do my part to spread ‘more love, less hate’ in this world. For everyone, but especially for them.
