With all three kids in school for the first time (two days a week), I am taking one morning a week for a little self-care day. I try not to book anything on Thursday mornings after I drop off Millie at her sweet Mother’s Day Out, my last drop off after taking the boys to school. My routine is to come home from carpool, enjoy a cup of freshly ground, pourover coffee then sit down and do my weekly bible study lesson. After my quiet time and coffee, I am off to my group tennis lesson. It’s my favorite morning of the week! I play with a few other mom friends and we catch up while getting in a good workout – my favorite combination, lately. After tennis and before getting into the rest of my day, I come home to make a smoothie for the energy I need to kick start the rest of my morning.

I recently upgraded a few of our kitchen appliances at Walmart to help elevate my morning routine with high performance products. Walmart is always my go-to shopping spot for value, but I was so impressed to see they also have a wonderful selection of premium kitchen appliances from some of the finest culinary brands in the world. Keep reading to see how I am treating myself to a little weekly self-care morning ritual with my new and improved appliances from Walmart.

Serena & Lily: South Seas Side Cart | Dauphine Table Lamp

I have been a huge fan of Serena & Lily for years, but I truly became obsessed when I was pregnant with Knox and I was sourcing nursery inspiration. Then, we moved back to Texas and bought our first home and I wanted just about everything in each catalog that I poured over as soon as it arrived on our doorstep.

I thought it would be fun to share a few of my tried and true favorites from Serena and Lily that we have lived with and loved over the years.

We just returned home from spending the better part of July in Crested Butte, Colorado. We are still putting all the finishing touches on Creek Cove Cabin and it was so nice to be there for an extended period of time with my family to accept packages and to get ready to start hosting renters now that it’s a little safer to do so.

I partnered with Walmart again this month to share some of my favorite home items with you to help make our guest feel at home. From cozy bedding to little finishing touches like pillows and vases – Walmart has amazed me with their stylish and affordable finds that don’t sacrifice quality. I was so surprised and delighted by all the wonderful items I found that helped make Creek Cove Cabin feel more warm and inviting.

Most houses in the area sell furnished (with some exclusions), but (of course) we have made some changes to make the space feel more like us. For example, one of the bedrooms had wicker furniture that looked more like a lake house than a mountain house so we ordered this headboard and these bedside tables from Walmart to give the room the rustic vibe every mountain home needs. We also refreshed one of the guest bedrooms with this plaid bedding.

I ordered these fun floor pillows for the kids downstairs living room so they can pile up to watch tv when it’s time to wind down at the end of a day full of hiking and fishing.

But, one of my favorite purchases were the lamps we added to the downstairs living room. The lamps that were in this space before were too small and nothing bothers me more than dinky lamps that quickly make the whole room look cheap.

Lastly, I love to fill these little vases with wildflowers and spread them out around the house to bring the beautiful outdoors inside!

It’s Kitchen Reveal Day! This is probably the room I get the most questions about so I am excited to finally share all the images and source links in one easy reference spot for you.

This was one of the areas of the house we had to completely rework in the remodel. We had plans drawn for this space to open the kitchen up into the family room for a more open concept (the original kitchen was off the dining room with a breakfast room centered with the family room). When we centered the kitchen with the family room, this left space between our new kitchen and the original dinning room so we were able to create a pass-through wet bar and a walk in butler’s pantry – one of the best changes we made to the house, in my opinion!

Keep reading to see more and let me know if I missed anything you are curious about in the comments below.
