Fred and I celebrated our 7-year anniversary this month and I knew I wanted to do something special for his gift. To say he is hard to shop for is an understatement. He doesn’t care much for most material things, but a thoughtful gift as simple as a card can go a long way with him. When I learned about Framebridge’s custom framing and gallery wall consulting I knew it would be the perfect way to show Fred how much he means to me through a gift he can enjoy in the years to come. So I started compiling my favorite pictures from our first seven years of marriage to create the perfect memory wall for us to always look back on and smile.
The process working with Framebridge was so seamless and simple. I knew I wanted a mix of images from our travels, family milestones and our wedding invitation to include where it all started. You can simply upload any digital files for them to print, frame and send back to you ready to hang or you can mail in any physical items like our wedding invitation or a piece of artwork. Our home has a lot of gold and antique brass accents so I also knew I wanted to continue this theme in our gallery wall. I browsed their selections and loved the Richmond, Concord and Potomac frames, but when it came to the rest I was honestly stumped!
I love the look of gallery walls that I have seen online that didn’t seem so perfect and symmetrical with different size images and frames that all work together, but aren’t identical. I loved that the Framebridge team can take your ideas and aesthetic and transform it into a completed vision that you can easily bring to life at home through their gallery wall service. After measuring our space and sharing my favorite pictures with the designer, I worked one-on-one with her to created an arrangement based on my preferences and our space. Then, she sent me a mockup of what our wall would look like for approval. I made one small tweak to a frame and one simple image swap and quickly received a revised mock-up that was absolutely perfect for us! I couldn’t wait to show Fred!
When the box arrived, I took out all the frames to wrap up for our anniversary morning. Needless to say, he was blown away with all our beautiful memories! We both love that some of our favorite moments are now on display for us to look back on and share with our friends and family. It also gave our room the stylish and personalized touch that it was missing.
For easy hanging, I traced all the frames on paper and then used the guide Framebridge provided to tape them on the wall before making any permanent holes.
Once I had all the papers on the wall where I wanted them, I began hanging the frames and removing the paper as I went.
