Hi friends!  It is time for another apartment post!  If you didn’t notice here or here, my decorating style is a little more traditional than my fashion taste.  I live for antiques with a French country feel that I can mix with a few feminine details and clean lines.

All of our furniture was purchased over the years while living in Texas.  It is a little large for our NYC pad, but I am so happy I have it here to make our apartment feel like home.  I appreciate the modern, minimalist style that I typically see in stores in the city, but it isn’t me.  (You are talking to the girl who subscribes to Southern Living magazine.) I truly believe the best decorated spaces are the ones that reflect the individual’s personality.

Decorating is one of those tasks that is never finished.  You can always add or change things in a room to evolve the look and feel of the space.  We have been in our apartment now for a year, and there are still things on my wish list.  A few items on my list are a new head board and some wall art.

Decorating Tip: My mom has great taste and she always says, “Buy what you like, and it will go with what you already have.”  I love this tip because you end up with a room that is uniquely you and not one that looks like a show room.  Try mixing pieces with different themes to reflect different aspects of your personality.  Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere is a pro at this!

What is your decorating style?  Does it reflect your personality?
