When we first moved into our house almost three years ago, the first room I decorated was my office. I was so excited to have a dedicated workspace of my own and a space that I could decorate however I wanted that I jumped on the opportunity! (Hello pink rug!) But after living in the space for two and a half years, I realized it was lacking in one department; the storage department.

As a blogger, we receive packages every week. I have documents that need to be filed and office supplies that need a home. All this meant that I had stacks and piles everywhere. Since I am often shooting content in our home, particularly my office, this also meant that I was constantly moving piles around to hide them behind the scenes.
So when Ace Hardware reached out to ask me if I had any home projects in the works, I knew what I needed their help on. I was finally going to get those beautiful built-ins I had always dreamed about. This space needed to be both functional and beautiful (of course) and I was so excited that Ace Hardware‘s quality interior paint by Clark+Kensington could help bring our vision to life.
With the help of my design dream team Jawda x Jawda, we decided to visit the local Ace and color matched at Ace’s Paint Studio to create a beautifully bold and modern grey custom color in a high gloss finish. The associates were so helpful – I simply brought in a color swatch for the color I was dreaming of, and they mixed up the paint to perfectly match what we were envisioning for the space. Once the built-ins were painted, I especially loved how the paint color really popped after all the finishing touches came together. I love mixing a cool grey with antique brasses finishes to warm up the space. And when Sarah came over to help me style the shelves everything really came to life. But how perfect is this piece of art by Saba for my new space?! I mean if I can’t find inspiration here, there is just something wrong with me. 😉

I went to Lowe’s and bought some undermount cabinet lighting that we installed inside the shelf so you can’t see it. 😉
Are they like puck lights? I’m planning the same for my builtins. How do you turn yours on?
