Morgan Hutchinson is someone you can’t help but admire. She speaks Mandarin, has lived in four cities in the past four years (including Beijing), is a mother to two small children, and runs BURU, an online shop that carries a beautifully curated selection of designer clothing that caters to the needs of new mothers (i.e. breastfeed-friendly!). The name “BURU” is actually a nod to her time spent in China; the meaning of characters BU (哺) and RU (乳) when combined means to breastfeed.

Hey all you chic mammas out there, shopping just got a lot easier with BURU White Label! I am so excited to share that Shop BURU, the go-to destination for clothing (before, during and after pregnancy), has launched their own private label, BURU White Label. The prices are super budget friendly (almost everything is under $100), but everything is just as stylish and unique as you have come to expect from this favorite online shopping destination.
And just as exciting, they will be making a stop in Houston on their Lone-Star Road Trip so you can shop everything in person! (And your’s truly will be hosting the fun at our house!) But, of course, we couldn’t have a Houston shopping event with my best gal and Houston designer, Hunter Bell, so we are doubling up on all the fun and the goodies for a fun shopping event you won’t want to miss! If you live in town and want to come by, email us for more details!

I love this outfit for the simplicity and versatility of it. Stripes, leopard + a trench coat are all great basics that can be paired with just about anything in your closet… and who doesn’t love investing in basics at 20% off?!

I met Morgan & Brett, owners of Shop BuRu, during New York Fashion Week and instantly knew I wanted to collaborate with them. BuRu is the first and only online retailer of carefully curated ready-to-wear for breast-feeding mothers. Being a new mom and nursing mother myself, it was a match made in fashion heaven.
If you aren’t a mother or aren’t nursing, have no fear! All the items in the collection are brand names like Rebecca Minkoff + Hunter Bell that anyone would lust over! (They just happen to have conveniently located buttons, snaps or zippers.) Plus, you can get 20% off all items with code BURU+HofH… what are you waiting for?!
Morgan and I met up at my apartment in TriBeCa for a fun little styling session + photo shoot. You can shop my boutique on BuRu and I will be sharing more fun pictures (and outfits) in the upcoming days.
// Out and about sharing my favorite neighborhood spots with Morgan (and Knox)! //
// Knox’s Bugaboo Bee happens to match my outfit. Pure coincidence. 😉 //
// This Walter Baker Jessica jacket is my newest obsession. Plus, it looks like I will be able to wear it a little longer in the NYC spring weather. //
// Since this is the perfect outfit for a brunch with girlfriends, I had to take Morgan to The Odeon. //

Today we are talking about a more serious topic than usual: mental health. After the tragic passings of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, there is a push more than ever before to open up about mental health. We feel firmly that it is crucial to put away the negative stigmas, and focus on how we can best support those around us who are struggling, and speak up if we need help for ourselves. We are incredibly honored that two inspiring women opened up with House of Harper about their own personal mental health journeys so that we can share their advice with you.

My weekly go-to wardrobe usually consist of my classic staples with a little bit of seasonal flare. The first items I swap out in the early fall months are my accessories since the weather in Houston will take a little longer before we can get too excited about our fall wardrobes. I love the personality and flare these leopard boots add to my neutral wardrobe.

Are you guys ready to ring in 2017?! This holiday season has been a bit of a whirl wind and we still have one more trip left before we officially wrap 2016. After celebrating Christmas with family in Corsicana (where I am from), Houston (where Fred is from) and Crockett (at the Knapp’s cabin), we are heading to my family’s ranch in the hill country to ring in the new year!
Our NYE will be pretty low-key at the ranch with family and kiddos so I probably will not be wearing this dress again, but the stars are so on trend that I just had to share it with you! We also picked a few other sparkly favorites for you below…

Ah, Christmas! I hope y’all aren’t getting tired of all my Christmas love over here?! It just really is the most magical time of the year, if you ask me! I hosted our annual girls’ Christmas dinner and gift exchange Wednesday night so I thought it would be fun to share the holiday table setting we have out all month long. Our home is an open layout between our living room and dinning room and I just love when a set table makes the whole house feel so festive!

It’s no secrete that I like to keep things pretty simple and classic. I love investing in pieces that I can wear over and over. A perfect black skirt and go-to white blouse are at the top of my closet essentials, but it’s always fun to keep things interesting with your accessories or light layering. I ordered this crop top from Forever 21 and love pairing it over a white blouse. It’s perfect with denim, too! (Hello, Thursday date night look!)

Sometimes I wish we all wore a uniform so I didn’t have to think when it came to getting dressed. (Which is probably why I live by this philosophy most of the time.) But, if I did wear a uniform, I would want it to be this Milly jumper. Now, this I could wear everyday!

I arrived back home yesterday after a whirlwind long weekend in my favorite city for New York Fashion Week! It was a fun weekend filled with fashion and friends in the city we used to call home. I got to NYC late Thursday night and basically just had time to check into the hotel and order soup dumplings for a midnight snack (oh, how I miss all the seamless web offerings!) On Friday morning, I kicked off the week at the newest DryBar location in Boerum Hill where I took over their Instagram Stories for the day to share a glimpse into NYFW.

On my recent trip to Charleston, we spent a day on Sullivan’s Island. It was my first time to venture across the bridge and it was so worth it! We met at the adorable Obstinate Daughter for a cup of coffee before heading to the beach. The beach reminded me of our summers in Long Island with the wooden walkways, tall beach grass and lighthouses. It was so picturesque!

I met Morgan Hutchinson of Shop Buru almost two years ago at NYFW. I immediately fell in love with her cheerful spirit and entrepreneurial attitude so when she asked me to do a feature last year, I jumped at the chance to style 3 outfits from her website + shoot with Lindsey Bell! We had so much fun together, we decided to team up again so I met her at their Sam & Lavi market appointment to pick out a favorite look to share with you!
I loved this look for one obvious reason: the gingham print, but the girly flowy top and midi skirt are so flattering and on trend. You can also see how Morgan styled this look in her Glitter Guide feature!
If you aren’t familiar with Shop Buru, it is an online shopping destination with a carefully edited assortment of all your favorite designers’ latest and greatest that also happen to be new ‘mom friendly’. We are talking elastic waist, button down tops + loose fitting tops (like this one) that make nursing or just feeling comfortable with your new body easy! Genius, right?!
P.S. If you are in Houston, today is Shop Buru’s first stop on their ‘Buru To You‘ moving tour! You can shop their moving sale this week

I am still sharing images we shot in NYC before our move to Houston. (Thank goodness I planned ahead because the housing search, catching up with friends and exploring a new city is taking up most of my time! Not to mention that it is hard to look cute when 90% of your wardrobe is in storage.) As I write this post I am wondering where in the world storage unit these pants could be because they are so comfortable and the light weight fabric would be perfect for the hot climate. I styled them for a casual day running around the city here, but I also love dressing them up with heels and a fun top (last seen here).
This little coffee shop window was one of my favorite pit stops in NYC. Knox and I would stroll up, and I would order my iced café con leche. Now, I get so excited for drive thru Starbucks (because I don’t have to get Knox out of his car seat)! If you have any cute, yummy local coffee spots in Houston, I’m all ears!

I love this Hunter Bell dress for so many reasons… the neon color, the lace fabric, the zipper details (at the shoulder + the hem)!
The colorful Rebecca Minkoff tote makes for the perfect baby bag with the blue / pink sides it works for any child at any age!
This sporty mesh jacket (also Rebecca Minkoff) is just the right weight for spring. I dresses down this lace dress for day and would take any t-shirt + jean combo to the next level.
